Our mobile lab service brings the blood draw to you. A certified phlebotomist collects the blood work on your requisition at home, at work or at a seniors residence, then delivers your samples to the lab the same day.

Home blood draw: what to expect
Before the visit. Have your doctor's requisition and your photo ID ready. Follow any fasting instructions on your requisition. We send prep instructions with your confirmation.
During the visit. Your phlebotomist checks your details, collects and labels your samples, and is usually done in about fifteen minutes. Nervous about needles? Tell us when you book and we will allow extra time.
After the visit. Your samples are delivered to the lab the same day, and results go to the provider who ordered the tests, as they would from any lab.
Where we go. Our mobile blood collection covers every Calgary quadrant (NW, NE, SW and SE) plus Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere and nearby acreages.

What is mobile blood collection?
Mobile blood collection means a certified phlebotomist comes to your home, office or residence to draw your blood, instead of you going to a lab. The samples are then delivered to the lab for testing.
How much does mobile blood collection cost?
Tests your doctor orders are usually still publicly covered, so you pay only for the home visit. Call 403-614-0078 for the current visit fee. Many health spending accounts accept our receipts.
Do I need a requisition?
Yes, for doctor-ordered blood work. Have it ready at the visit or attach it when you send your request.
Is this the APL mobile lab?
No. Blood Tech Diagnostics is an independent, private mobile lab service that anyone can book. Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) runs its own home-collection program for patients who meet its criteria.
